Where is Polyday?

The Venue

This year we are coming back to the venue we used in 2009: Dragon Hall is a community centre in Central London, near to Holborn station. For the purposes of Polyday we will be hiring the entire venue, plus their additional room on Newton Street, less than two minutes walk away. The venue has excellent links with the LGBT community, and seem very friendly.

Getting there

Dragon Hall is in Central London, within a couple of minutes walk of Holborn tube station. Further directions will be posted nearer to the date.

Accessibility

All floors of the venue are connected by a lift; there is a disabled toilet on the ground floor.

If you have a disability or other access need (eg mobility issue, sensory impairment, mental health need, learning disability/difficulty) please get in touch as early as possible; we may be able to do something to improve your access, and if for example the lift isn't working on the day we can call you and let you know. If you are coming to Polyday with your own support/personal assistant/carer you will not be expected to pay for them to attend to support you.

Staying nearby

We're not organising accommodation as part of Polyday. However previous organisers have recommended St Christopher's Inns in Camden and London Bridge, which offer very cheap dormitory accommodation, though you have to book both Friday and Saturday. But if you want to make a weekend of it and you can get together people to share with you, it's a good choice.

Alternatively, the Jesmond Dene Hotel in King's Cross has twin rooms from £45 a night or four- and five-bed rooms from £95, and is a good budget hotel.
